Sheetal Group: Providing Education, Basic Needs, and Disaster Relief to India

The Sheetal Group has led India in creating beautiful polished diamonds from their natural rough origins since 1985. As one of the world’s leading diamond manufacturers, they have also been leaders in supporting the communities where they do business.

“Every child deserves the right to education and good health” Govindbhai Kakadia, Chairman of Sheetal Group, said.

Every year, as many as 20,000 children are educated through various institutions supported by Sheetal Group.

The disadvantaged communities in Gujarat face problems such as low literacy, inadequate medical facilities and natural disasters.

Sheetal Group addresses these problems in several ways – by donating generously to educational institutes, medical associations and relief foundations. The proceeds are used to fund the building of much needed infrastructure, facilities such as libraries, laboratories, etc in various hospitals and institutes.

Sheetal Group has always been at the forefront to help its community during natural disasters like the Asian Tsunami, Bhuj Earthquake, Surat Floods, and the Covid-19 pandemic by providing manpower, food packets, medical assistance and other necessities.

“Some people see corporate responsibility as an additional cost; we don’t. We see it as an essential part of business, as much as land, power, raw materials and employees.” – Vallabh Kakadia, Sheetal Group Partner, said. Another way diamonds do good.
